Job Description

Book of the Month is looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing data analytics team. Our user-base generates millions of rows of data daily, and  the BI Analyst will be responsible for transforming this information into analytic solutions that facilitate informed business decisions. This person will be responsible for data querying, analysis and reporting that supports all teams across the company. This is a great opportunity for an analytics enthusiast with strong SQL skills to deliver insights that impact all parts of the business, including finance, operations, marketing, editorial and customer experience.

What you’ll do… 

  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to provide historic, current and predictive trends in KPIs
  • Write complex SQL queries to clean and transform user data into datasets ready for reporting
  • Create and improve existing Tableau reports and dashboards to promote business insights
  • Collaborate with teams across the company to define KPIs and create reporting solutions for new projects 
  • Take an active role in translating analytical findings into concrete strategic recommendations for teams across the business

What you should have…

  • 2+ years of experience using SQL to query and analyze data 
  • Experience building reports and dashboards in Tableau 
  • Experience with Snowflake, Amazon Redshift or MySQL databases is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for digging deep into complex datasets to find hidden relationships and patterns
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a team-player mentality
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/MS in computer science, statistics, or a related major 
  • Experience working with Tableau
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL

Base Salary: $70,000 - $90,000
