Yard Driver

JBS is seeking an hourly Yard Driver 3rdShiftTeam Member! Position starts at $23 per hour with $1 shift differential.

*Must be able to work every Saturday and Sunday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensures the effective and timely completion of all trailer movement functions.

• An employee in this position must have the ability to drive Tractor, maneuvering into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
• Clean and spot trailers to specified doors or lot locations.
• Inspect trailers for defects, pre/post tri and submit inspection report
• indicating condition per plant policies.
• Inspect loaded trailers to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport of product and that refrigeration unit is functioning.
• Report any issues to Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.
• Drive tractor-trailer within yard or within short distances outside of yard, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering on the road and on Company premises.
• Be knowledgeable of Thermo King Truck Trailer CR, DAS, and DSR Alarm Codes.
• Reset refrigeration units after codes have been addressed.
• Meet this position's physical demands.
• Ability and willingness to select/load/unload and/or deliver ALL products that may be ordered by our customers.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Class A CDL preferred
• Experienced with refrigerated trailers and drop trailer programs.
• Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and possess a problem-solving mentality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Good verbal and written communication skills, organization skills
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Good math skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time

Work Environment

ACTIVITIES: Standing, walking, driving, bending, lifting, stooping, crouching, kneeling intermittently.

HEARING: Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

REPETITIVE MOTION: Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents,products, or operate machinery.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds throughout the day.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical office environment, with no hazardous or significantly unpleasant workconditions. Exposed to weather conditions.
