JOB SUMMARY:

Operate golf cart and Wheelchair Van. Applicants must be able to Drive / Operates Wheelchair Van and Golf Cart in a safe, reliable and professional manner while providing scheduled/unscheduled service for patients or residents, per the requirements of Shore Regional Health Driver Safety Policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

1. Acknowledge and greet all guests and patients on parking lots by communicating with HEART.
2. Operates SRH vehicles in a safe, reliable manner consistent with practices that avoid abuse, theft, neglect or disrespect of the equipment.
3. Conducts pre and post trip inspection in accordance with Company Policy
4. Obey all State traffic laws and use of seatbelts and shoulder harness is mandatory for driver and all passengers.
5. Documents clearly and concisely daily ridership, mileage information and any unusual occurrences, accident reports, etc.
6. Assertively responds to assist staff and others by providing information, directions and/or provide escort services to patients and/or visitors.
7. Able to deal tactfully with passenger requests, complaints and problems.
8. Maintains communications with Transportation Coordinator of any unusual circumstances with Van, Passengers, moving violations and equipment etc.
9. Performs housekeeping of the vehicles: sweeps cleans windows, wipes dash and seats.
10. Monitors and controls parking areas, loading/unloading areas, restricted parking areas and vehicular and pedestrian traffic in and around assigned areas via both foot and golf cart patrol.
11. Performs vehicle assists, e.g. jump starts with Security Officer.
12. Presents neat, professional appearance. Wears required safety clothing and equipment.
13. Maintains the confidentiality of patient information and of others involved in hospital incidents.
14. Attends required in-services, insurance company approved Van Safety Training and staff meetings.
15. Must be able to operate all equipment involved in the job to include
16. Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Minimum of one year’s experience in the operation of passenger vans. Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of State laws governing the operation of motor vehicles. Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and ability to perform safety and maintenance checks. Will have internal and external contacts with Patients, Physicians, Employees and General public.

Compensation:

• Pay Range: $17.04 - $22.47
