All while understanding that **together** we are even better. **Schedule:** Full Time **Shift:** 245pm-1115pm with rotating weekends. **Location:** 120 N OAK ST, Hinsdale, 60521 **The role you'll contribute:** Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of supplies and instrumentation utilized throughout the facility following established national standards and infection control standards. This position ensures that all medical instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and ready for use. This role adheres to strict protocols to maintain a sterile environment. In addition, this position collaborates with healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterilized equipment. This role monitors and maintains sterilization equipment to ensure optimal performance. **The value you'll bring to the team:** + Receives soiled and contaminated instruments or equipment from surgery, anesthesia, and nursing units. + Prepares, cleans, and disinfects instruments and equipment appropriately. + Inspects all instruments and equipment for damages, malfunction, or unacceptable condition. + Prepares instruments and equipment for sterilization by verifying correct items and quantities. + Assures proper sterilization procedures are performed and the effectiveness of the sterilizing process. + Maintains required records on sterilization and tracks equipment and instruments issued to nursing units. + Assists with maintaining adequate supply levels and supply preparation for surgical cases. + Maintains cleanliness and proper order in the work area. + Demonstrates proficient use of all equipment and knowledge of stocking and par levels for nursing units. + Shows dependability and flexibility in meeting the scheduling needs of the department. + Assumes on-call assignments and takes responsibility for personal and professional development. + Other duties as assigned. Qualifications **The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed** **:** + High School Grad or Equiv Required or + Technical/Vocational School Required + Associate Preferred + One or more years Work Experience Preferred + Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Preferred or + Certified Sterile Processing Tech (CSPD) Preferred or + Central Supply Tech (IAHCSMM) Preferred and + Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Preferred This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
