Job Description

The School Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student/client care and/or contracted services in a school setting. The School Nurse may also be in a supervisory position within the contracted services. The School Nurse provides services in accordance with Amergis Healthcare Staffing's philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders. Minimum Requirements: + Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program + Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing + One year of professional experience, preferred + Current CPR + PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age Additional Required Skills and Responsibilities: + Proficient in restroom assistance and hygiene support + Experience with feeding assistance, including G-tube care + Skilled in tracheostomy and ventilator management + Capable of diabetic care and blood glucose monitoring + Able to monitor and respond to seizure activity + Comfortable working with children and/or in school environments (preferred) + Strong communication and documentation skills + Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and families If you are a compassionate and skilled nurse looking to make a difference in a school setting, we encourage you to apply and join our team!
