Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:

Haas is seeking a reliable and detail orientated Scale Shack Operator to join our team at our Eau Claire Shop and Yard location. This position plays a key role in the daily operations of our site, ensuring accurate weighing and documentation of materials using our AWS scale system. The ideal candidate will have prior knowledge of aggregate products and will be comfortable interacting with truck drivers, dispatchers, and other team members. This position will be 40 hours a week and is a seasonal position, working April through November.

Primary Responsibilities:

• First point of contact in our yard, managing truck weights, tracking loads, and keeping operations running smoothly
• Operate AWS scale system to assist incoming and outgoing trucks and complete proper documentation
• Accurately record weights and generate scale tickets
• Communicate effectively with drivers and provide directions or instructions as needed
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls pertaining to our scale system in all locations
• Maintain daily records and ensure data entry accuracy
• Perform basic administrative tasks and maintain an organized scale shack
• Collaborate with pit supervisors and other staff to ensure smooth operations
• Follow all safety protocols and site procedures
• If properly trained, may assist site loader with loading customers and company trucks
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the needs of the organization

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Basic knowledge of aggregate materials (gravel, sand, stone, etc.)
• Basic computer proficiency (data entry, email, ticketing systems)
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be dependable and punctual

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Sitting and standing at a desk or scale for long periods
• Walking outside to direct trucks or inspect loads
• Exposure to noise, dust, and yard activity
• Occasional lifting of small materials

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
