Job Description

Our story

Every year millions of people are either filing their taxes in fear or giving up on their tax refund altogether. We’re working on fixing that. Our intuitive app enables anyone, regardless of education or background, to file their taxes with newfound confidence.

Spread across Germany, Spain and the UK, the team at Taxfix Group with its brands Taxfix, Steuerbot and TaxScouts, is a compassionate group of solution-finders. We speak our minds openly, and with over 400 professionals, including tax experts, developers, and IT security experts, we’re rich in ideas and voices. The group has facilitated more than 4 billion euros in tax refunds for its customers since its founding in 2016.

Your Challenge

As a Senior Financial Analyst within the FP&A team, you will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy. You will be responsible for high-level strategic business planning, complex budgeting and forecasting, as well as leading variance analyses to ensure alignment with company objectives. You will also manage ad-hoc requests from senior leadership and contribute to long-term financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
You will report directly to our Director of FP&A, while collaborating with cross-functional partners, including accounting, marketing, product, and data teams. This role will have significant exposure to the management team, and you’ll have the opportunity to influence key strategic decisions.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and monitoring of business, liquidity, and budget planning, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategic direction

  • Take full ownership of key financial processes, including customer acquisition, staff, and OpEx planning

  • Create financial presentations and reports for board meetings, fundraising rounds, and other senior-level engagements

  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis and strategic ad-hoc analyses to guide senior management’s decision-making

  • Develop advanced financial insights and reports for senior stakeholders, driving forward the financial acumen of the organization

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, especially data, to create dynamic financial dashboards and deliver actionable insights to leadership

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, providing business partnering and strategic guidance on financial matters

  • Lead and manage independent projects aimed at improving reporting and planning processes across the organization

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience preferably in a high-growth environment supporting Leadership; alternatively, you’ve started your career in a highly analytical function in investment banking, consulting or technology companies and now want to apply yourself in an evolving scale-up

  • Advanced skills in Excel, planning tools, and cloud technologies; you prefer automation and scalable solutions over manual work.

  • Strong communicator (written and verbal) who builds relationships across all levels of the organization and clearly conveys business performance to key stakeholders.

  • Independent and objective thinker, able to draw insights from both quantitative and qualitative data.

  • Excellent project management skills, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-impact results.

  • As an ideal candidate, you have expertise in financial planning, analysis, and data analytics, with an innovative approach to problem-solving.

  • Experience with SQL, Python, Pigment, R, BI tools is a plus.

  • You are familiar with customer cohorts, LTV, and marketing ROI and not just high-level financial metrics

  • Solid knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles.

Why Taxfix?

  • A chance to do meaningful, people-centric work with an international team of passionate professionals.

  • Holistic wellbeing with free mental health coaching sessions, yoga, and a discounted membership to Urban Sports Club.

  • A monthly allowance to spend on home support services, including childcare, housekeeping, pet sitting, tutoring, and elderly care.

  • Employee stock options for all employees—because everyone deserves to benefit from the success they help to create.

  • Dedicated relocation and visa support for those that need it.

  • 30 annual vacation days and flexible working hours.

  • A generous learning budget to support your personal and professional development and guidance from our internal L&D experts.

  • Work from abroad for up to six weeks every year. Just align with your team, and then enjoy your trip.

  • Plenty of opportunities to socialise as a team. In addition to internal meetups, our international team hosts regular get-togethers—virtually and in person when possible.

  • Free tax declaration filing, of course, through the Taxfix app—and internal support for all personal tax-related questions.

  • Have a four-legged friend in your life? We’re happy to have dogs join us in the office.

To help mitigate any potential unconscious biases, we ask that you refrain from including your picture, age, or marital status on your CV. Let your experiences speak for themselves.
