Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position Location: Wausau, WI Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12s Nights Pay: $2460/week Job Description: We are seeking a highly specialized and detail-oriented Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide expert critical care to patients with complex neurological conditions. This specialized role involves managing patients with a range of conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, and spinal cord injuries. The Neuro ICU RN is responsible for advanced neurological assessments, managing intracranial pressure, and implementing life-sustaining interventions. The ideal candidate is a rapid critical thinker with a deep understanding of neuroanatomy and physiology, and the ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform frequent and detailed neurological assessments, including Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) and cranial nerve function.
• Monitor and manage complex medical devices, including intracranial pressure (ICP) monitors and ventilators.
• Administer and titrate neuro-specific medications and drips.
• Identify and respond quickly to changes in a patient’s neurological status.
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, neurologists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute complex care plans.
• Educate and support patients and their families through difficult and often life-altering situations.
• Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of all patient care, assessments, and interventions.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Wisconsin.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Neuro ICU nursing experience.
• COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
