Our client Harris County is in need of Drivers. Please see the job details below, you must have previous experience working as a Driver.

Pay Rate: $22.00

Location: Houston, TX 77002

Schedule: Full-time and part-time shifts available. May include early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday assignments depending on operational needs.

Job Duties:

• Safely operate county-assigned shuttle vehicles along designated routes between the Nance Street employee parking lot and county facilities.
• Provide scheduled and on-demand transportation service for authorized personnel, including employees of:
  • Harris County Sheriff’s Office
  • Harris County Administrative Offices
  • Juvenile Justice Center
  • Harris Health employees assigned to HCSO jail facilities
• Ensure passengers are transported in a timely manner and maintain adherence to established shuttle schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and promptly report any safety concerns, maintenance needs, or mechanical issues.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, providing assistance and information to passengers as needed.
• Monitor passenger activity to ensure compliance with safety procedures and shuttle policies.
• Maintain accurate ridership logs, route documentation, or other operational records as required.
• Respond calmly and appropriately in emergency or unexpected situations, including vehicle breakdowns or medical incidents.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety protocols, and county policies regarding vehicle operation and employee conduct.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience (shuttle, passenger van, bus, or similar vehicle).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to pass a background investigation, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
• Experience operating passenger transport vehicles in a government, healthcare, or law enforcement setting.
• Knowledge of downtown Houston traffic patterns and Harris County facility locations.
