Job Description

Job Summary:
The Dental Hygienist will provide direct patient care, educate patients on oral hygiene and health, and perform various dental procedures at the Community Health Center of Niagara. This role requires a graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program with a NYS dental hygiene registration certificate. One year of experience in a general dental practice setting is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including prophylaxis, examinations, topical fluoride applications, dental sealants, scaling, root planning, and other patient services as permitted under state law.
- Develop and expose radiographs.
- Instruct patients in oral hygiene and health.
- Clean and disinfect the dental operatory.
- Clean and sterilize dental instruments.
- Assist with inventory of dental supplies.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones and making appointments.
- Work independently with flexibility and personal integrity while effectively working with patients and staff.
- Relate to patients of all ages and life situations in a professional manner.
- Continually refine dental hygiene skills through continuing education courses, literature, etc.
- Participate in and contribute to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities and functions as needed.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
- NYS dental hygiene registration certificate.
- One year of experience in a general dental practice setting is preferred.
- Three years of experience in a community healthcare setting is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $68,390 - $81,744, depending on years of experience.
