Description

Will utilize analytics and hypothesis-driven thinking to provide insightful views into credit union data. Responsible for using strong business intuition to synthesize and extrapolate from messy datasets to solve diverse business problems. Will contribute to the credit union’s growth by helping to implement efficient and scalable data solutions built around credit union strategic objectives. These solutions will be presented through dashboards and presentations using multiple software suites and data disciplines. Coordinates with Manager of BI and other departments to aid in creating ad-hoc reports to meet business needs. Will assist in leading beta testing Red Teams in cleaning and preparing new dashboards to be deployed in production for use across the whole organization. Assists in team trainings and delivers presentations on key findings to departments as assigned by BI Management.

Essential Functions And Basic Duties

  • Leverage Data to Drive Business Insights and Profitability
  • Collate, analyze, and report daily, weekly and monthly findings into various reports. Deliver a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboard solution.
  • Prepare, analyze, and communicate data to key personnel and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Discover and deliver insights to help create a culture of data driven decision-making within all credit union departments.
  • Make formal and informal presentations as needed to provide brief and easy to understand findings/recommendations from data driven conclusions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of credit union data, systems and operations to provide business solutions.
  • Assist in the development and tracking of credit union initiatives and strategic objectives
  • Support senior management, Director of BI and other department managers in data analysis as needed.
  • Analyzes data to find improvements and solutions for automation, retention and profitability.
  • Create clear and concise visualizations to effectively communicate findings.
  • Data Governance
  • Documents all dataflows/transformations for clarification of methodology applied in data models
  • Identifies and recommends methods to normalize and maintain data from disparate systems.
  • Applies industry standards to the technical architecture of Business Intelligence solutions to provide a consistent and stable data environment
  • Assists Manager of BI in achieving high organization adoption of the BI Platform by providing documentation and training for end users
  • Works with organization Red Teams to build, test and certify data models
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Assists credit union leadership with data to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Contributes to the Business Intelligence culture to help ensure a cooperative and constructive work environment.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure and well maintained.
  • Manages special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works a regular and predictable schedule.

  • Data analytics projects are effectively and efficiently completed to facilitate operational planning and development activities.
  • Reported information is researched, interpreted, and presented accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Research and reporting procedures are regularly reviewed and modified to suit an ever-changing business climate. New technology and work methods are reviewed and implemented as needed.
  • Reports for management and operational users should be clear, concise, and meaningful.
  • Management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
  • Department projects are completed on time and accurately

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

4 Year College Degree

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of Credit Union operations.

Proficiency in SQL

Proficiency in Relational Databases

Understanding of languages such as Redshift, R and Python

Knowledge of all policies, procedures, products, and services

Excellent understanding of document formats, spreadsheets and business communications.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1 - 3 years of credit union and/or related data-focused position.

Statistics and data analysis course work or equivalent work experience in a related field.
